It has been a rocky road for La La Anthony and her husband, Carmelo, but according to a recent interview, all seems to be going smooth as silk.
The Power actress was recently interviewed by In Style, where she opened up about several personal topics, including motherhood, her struggles to make it as an actress, and all that comes with raising a preteen who is now dating.
In the chit-chat, she took the opportunity to praise the basketball star by explaining that he is a great father to their son, Kiyan.

The gorgeous model and part-time reality star confessed: “Hands down, the father-of-the-year award goes to Carmelo Anthony. He is so supportive — this man flies from coast to coast just to sit in on a violin concert for 10 minutes. In no way am I a single parent, because I couldn’t raise my kid without him. They’re both super laid-back. But Kiyan is also pretty shy and quiet. I worry because I don’t want him to keep everything inside; I want him to feel like he can talk to us about everything. I also want him to be careful because some kids want to be his friend for the wrong reasons. We’ve had to make him understand that, which has been interesting.”

La La went on to gush about the apple of her eyes — her only child, Kiyan, by saying: “Kiyan is the best thing that ever happened to me. He’s what I’m most proud of. Having him is the most badass thing I’ve ever done, so I definitely feel most powerful when I’m in mom mode.”

The businesswoman also talked about how her mother inspired her to hustle at a young age: “My mom always made it work with whatever she had to keep our family together, even when she was a single parent. That’s why my goal in life was always not to be broke. It wasn’t about having a career; I didn’t even know what I wanted to do. But I knew what being broke felt like, and I never wanted to have that feeling again.”
